Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (U) + Intro from director Susanna White

Family Film Club

A woman and her children play in a field.

We’re super excited to welcome Susanna White to introduce the screening and tell us a bit about what a film director’s job is!

When the Green family’s cousins are evacuated to the countryside to live with them, three children become five and bickering, fighting and general chaos ensues. But with the arrival of Nanny McPhee, the children must learn to work together and accept their differences or their entire farm will be in peril.

We’re delighted to close our month of female filmmakers with a visit from Susanna White, a prolific creative talent who has directed multiple prestige television episodes and is currently in pre-production to direct Cynthia Erivo in the film adaptation of Prima Facie.

The film drips with class – Emma Thompson and Maggie Gyllenhaal star, with Thompson also writing the screenplay, as well as featuring Ralph Fiennes, Dame Maggie Smith and Asa Butterfield (and a lovely mystery cameo at the end of the film that we won’t spoil too!)
