Our Cinemas

London's most welcoming arthouse cinema

Whether you're dropping in for a coffee during the day, meeting a mate for a drink or rocking up for a midweek ScreenTalk, you'll find yourself welcome at the Barbican Cinema. 

We have three screens at the Barbican: Cinema 1 on Level -2 in the Barbican Centre, near to the Theatre and Hall. Across the road on Beech Street, you'll find Cinemas 2 & 3, which operates as a café during the day. Pop in for freshly-made food from the seasonal menu!

Food and Drink at the Cinema

With fresh food and drinks made daily, there's plenty of reasons to pop to our cinema beyond what's on screen.

Barbican Cinema Café & Bar is open all day, serving delicious pastries and cakes, sandwiches and salads, with fresh coffee by Volcano Coffee Works. As the evening unfolds, choose from our curated selection of wine and beer, or grab some fresh popcorn to complement your film.

An accessible cinema for everyone

We want everyone to feel welcome in our Cinema. That’s why we screen films to every week to meet any additional needs. 

Captioned Screenings
We offer audio description for any screening where it is available. 

Relaxed Screenings 
One Monday each month we screen a new film tailored to a relaxed environment, for neurodiverse people. 

Audio Described Screenings 
For many of our new release titles audio description is available. The film soundtrack comes through the speakers in the usual way and a recorded narrator explains what is happening on screen through personal headphones.
