Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Contract.

Grade: C
Salary Range: £35,740 – 39,540 (inclusive of Inner London Weighting) per annum depending on experience/performance

Creative Collaboration

The Creative Collaboration department is at the heart of the Barbican’s engagement with its audiences and communities, breaking down traditional arts boundaries and contributing to a dynamic, diverse artistic programme.

Creative Collaboration aims to be a catalyst for the Barbican’s artistic vision, working across the centre with a multi-artform approach using all venues and spaces. The department champions interdisciplinary work that connects new audiences to the Barbican, engaging with creatives, participants and users that reflect the rich diversity of London.

The role

The Barbican is looking for a highly motivated and proactive PA to provide efficient and effective executive administrative support to the Head of Creative Collaboration, to support the delivery of the department’s strategic aims.

The post holder will manage the Head of Department’s complex diary and will be the first point of contact in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders. The PA will deliver a wide range of high-level administrative tasks including, preparing organisational documents, systems administration, departmental event management, and research for curatorial and strategic developments projects.

The PA will take the initiative to facilitate strong, collaborative working relationships and executive support standards across the Barbican.

Essential requirements

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate:

-Relevant PA experience including complex diary management at a senior/executive level, organising complex travel arrangements and itineraries, setting and maintaining office systems and procedures and drafting correspondence
-Previous administrative and office experience, preferably in a team support  
-Experience in creating, maintaining, and improving effective office systems.
-A proven self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and independently, with the initiative to make decisions and problem..
-Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines effectively.
-A keen interest in working in the arts, culture and education.
