The perfect half term finale – come along to Family Film Club for this animated classic from Studio Ghibli on the big screen.
Sisters Satsuki and Mei move home with their father to rural Japan to be closer to their convalescing mother. On arriving to their new house, Mei (the youngest sister) encounters susuwatari (house sprites) and soon discovers even more magical creatures sharing their garden and the surrounding woods. After following a trail to an ancient camphor tree nearby, she meets the huge, enigmatic and wonderful spirit Totoro and an adventure with nature begins for her and her family.
This joyful and thoroughly charming story from Hayao Miyazaki and the team at Studio Ghibli, gently explores the connection between humans and nature, celebrating the harmony that can be reached between ancient environmental cycles and the humans who live alongside.
