Mapping Our Inner Landscape

Mind Navigation Workshop

A person holds their phone and looks out over the balcony of the Barbican conservatory.

Led by Niharika Kumar, an artist affiliated with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, this workshop invites members of the LGBTQ+ community to explore how we use mental maps to navigate our lives.

Through a variety of sound and visual arts practices, Kumar will encourage participants to reflect on how we navigate our lives and cultural experiences, as we create internal representations of the outer world.

As part of the session, participants are invited to a LGBTQ+ community group tour of The Imaginary Institution of India Art 1975–1998 exhibition in our Gallery.

Niharika Kumar is a visual artist from India, now based in London. Her work investigates the conflict between her inner self and her mind through performance, film, costume design, spoken word, and music.

Running time: 3 hours

Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.
