Guru Nanak's Message of Peace Through Music
Darbar
A day-long series of events exploring Guru Nanak, founder of Sikhism, and his deep connection with music.
Step into a realm of deeply inspired spiritual music as we honour Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary with an extraordinary convergence of kirtan, qawwali, and bhajans, performed together for the first time under one roof.
Guru Nanak (1469-1539), founder of the Sikh dharam, introduced a revolutionary path to liberation that challenged social norms, rejecting caste, gender biases, and rigid religious practices. Accompanied by the master musician Bhai Mardana, Guru Nanak expressed his profound philosophy through kirtan as they travelled together on extensive interfaith journeys.
Join us for a day-long celebration of his teachings with engaging talks, film screenings, an immersive mool mantra experience, and soul-stirring musical performances.
Presented by Darbar Arts Culture and Heritage Trust, producers of the Darbar Festival.
