Warfare (15)

An American soldier stands in a room flooded with pink light, hiding in the corner next to the window.

Alex Garland's latest thriller is a collaboration with veteran Ray Mendoza, telling the story of the Iraq War from a US troop's perspective, following on from his research on Civil War.

Written and directed by Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland (Civil War, 28 Days Later), Warfare embeds audiences with a platoon of American Navy SEALs in the home of an Iraqi family, over-watching the movement of US forces through insurgent territory.

Featuring a uniquely impressive ensemble cast of: D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Ray Mendoza, Will Poulter (Midsommar), Cosmo Jarvis (Calm with Horses), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), Kit Connor (Heartstopper), Finn Bennett, Henry Zaga, Alex Brockdordd, Nathan Altain, Noah Centineo and Charles Melton (May December) as brothers in arms in the warzone.

A visceral, boots-on-the-ground story of modern warfare, told like never before: in real time and based on the memory of the people who lived it.
