Listening Session: Hannah Catherine Jones and the Chiron Choir

A group of people gather in a room to watch a music performance.

Led by Hannah Catherine Jones, Chiron Choir present a live set of somatic chants, vocal improvisations and compositions.

Drawing upon themes in the Noah Davis exhibition in our gallery, Chiron Choir create a conversation between Davis' work and the site of his first retrospective in London, linking Arlington Heights and the Barbican Centre.

They amplify the shared musical vocabularies traversing the UK and the US, through Black British and Black American female composers, including Alice Coltrane.

The event starts with an introduction by Hannah Catherine Jones.

Event timings:
7pm: Doors
7.45pm: Hannah Catherine Jones presents a discussion and sonic response to the work and exhibition of Noah Davis
8.30pm: Interval
8.45pm: Chiron Choir performance, led by Hannah Catherine Jones
9.30pm: Close

A ticket to this event also gives you access to our Conservatory Takeover Imagining Worlds  on Sun 9 Feb, a day of pop-up readings, live events and workshops, nestled among the plants in our living, breathing conservatory.
