Green Border (15) (AD)

Between Belarus and Poland, refugees make the treacherous journey seeking safety in Europe, in this gripping drama from Agnieszka Holland.

In the dangerous forests of the 'green border' between Belarus and Poland, Middle Eastern and African refugees try to reach the European Union. Instead, they find themselves trapped in a geopolitical crisis cynically engineered by Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko.

In an attempt to provoke Europe, refugees are lured to the border by propaganda promising easy passage to the EU.  Julia, a recent activist who gave up her comfortable life to fight for justice, Jan, a young border guard, and a Syrian family all become pawns in a much larger game.

Winning the Special Jury Prize at Venice, three-time Oscar Nominee Agnieszka Holland's poignant new feature shines a powerful light on the moral decisions war presents us all with.
