The Imaginary (PG)

Family Film Week

Two children play in a cardboard box.

Dripping with magic and danger, this fabulous new animation from the makers of Mary and the Witch’s Flower, is a thrilling delight!

Rudger, Amanda’s imaginary friend, finds himself in peril when he learns that he can disappear if his creator ever forgets him.

Chased by the villainous Mr Bunting (a creature who hunts and eats Imaginaries) and his spine-chilling sidekick, Rudger escapes to ‘the town of Imaginaries’ where he finds friends that might be able to help him return to Amanda before it’s too late. Based on The Imaginary by A.F. Harrold, this intricate animation from Studio Ponoc is a delightfully scary treat.

11:30am Free Workshop

11:30am – 14:00pm

Working with artist Fatima Rodriguez, this workshop is designed for families to engage in a creative, hands-on activity exploring the themes of the animated film The Imaginary and Boy and the World.

Families and Children will craft their very own magical wands using natural and recycled materials. The wands will represent not only the magic seen in the films but also symbolize the power of friendship and collaboration, as participants can 'enchant' their wands with positive qualities such as kindness, loyalty and teamwork.
