Take Me To The River: A Celebration of New Orleans Music

GRAMMY Award-winning project Take Me To The River brings a celebration of the musical legacy of New Orleans and Memphis to the Barbican - part of this year’s EFG London Jazz Festival from Friday 15 – Sunday 24 November 2024.

Take Me To The River is a multi-disciplinary project shining a light, through live performance, film and educational programmes, on the cultural impact of music from these two musically historic cities. It also showcases some of the best contemporary musical talent from New Orleans.

The Barbican concert will featuring Cyril Neville and Omari Neville of the legendary Neville family on vocals and percussion, alongside some of the most influential figures in New Orleans funk, R&B, soul and jazz, including Jon Cleary (vocals, piano), Big Chief Bo Dollis Jr. (vocals), Anjelika "Jelly" Joseph (vocals), Ian Neville (guitar), Robert Mercurio (bass), Joe Ashlar (keys) and Martin Shore (percussion and MC) alongside London-based horn players on the penultimate day of the annual jazz festival.
