A new collaborative project by literary and sound artist Belinda Zhawi (MA, MOYO) and multidisciplinary artist Duncan Bellamy, a founding member of Portico Quartet, will be performed in an intimate, one-off concert in Milton Court in February.

This will be the first performance of a new project of sonic poetry, Jump Ship, Sit Lean, Be Still, Stand Tall, that sets Belinda Zhawi's illuminating words in dialogue with Duncan Bellamy's explorative sounds.

Joined on stage by musicians from Manchester Collective, a shape-shifting ensemble known for their groundbreaking performances, together they render these disparate forms into something distinct, melancholic and luminous, with contemporary classical arrangements and intimate layered vocal experiments.

Support comes from Damsel Elysium, an experimental sound and visual artist, multi- instrumentalist and composer, who uses double bass, violin and original field recordings to explore alternative communication and connections with physical spaces and nature.
