An Impossible Love (15)

Impossible Love

A chronicle of the unconditional love between a mother and her daughter, from 1958 to the present day, a love which is endangered by an unsteady and manipulative father.

Rachel is a young office clerk living in a provincial town in 1950s France. She meets Philippe, a well-educated man from a wealthy family. They share an intense but short-lived romance, from which a daughter is born. Philippe refuses to marry outside of his social class and Rachel has to raise their daughter alone.

Over the next 50 years, their lives will be shaped by the unconditional love between a mother and her daughter, overshadowed by the impossible love of a woman for a man that rejects her, and of a daughter for an absent and abusive father.

Virginie Efira (Elle) and Niels Schneider (Heartbeats) star in the latest romantic drama from Catherine Corsini (Summertime).
