An evening of discussion and idea sharing inspired by Transpose with panellists from Project Indigo, Resis’dance, LGBT+ Community Centre and Queer Tours of London
Next year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots yet London’s LGBTQ+ community still doesn’t have a community centre to call their own. Join a range of individuals from the queer art and LGBTQ+ community to explore the need for queer spaces and what role culture centres can play.

On the panel
Charity Kase is a London based Performer and Drag artist recently featured in Vogue, ID and Paper Magazine. With a taste for twisted glamour and dark fantasy, she completed a 365 days of drag challenge in 2017 taking the drag community by storm.
Dan Glass is a sex-positive, queer, healthcare and human rights award-winning activist, performer and writer.
Reforming ‘Aids Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) London chapter in 2012 has catalysed healthcare and sex-positive programmes including campaigning for PREP, HIV Blind Date, protecting the National Health Service as well as enabling ‘HIV anti-stigma classes as part of the Beyond UKIP Cabaret in Nigel Farage's boozer. Dan has won Attitude Magazine’s campaigning role models for LGBTQI youth + a Guardian ‘UK youth climate leader’ and 2017 'Activist of the Year' with the 'Sexual Freedom Awards'. An agitator from the Training for Transformation educational programme born out of the Anti-Apartheid movement, the core of Dan's work is the development of critical consciousness and creativity to spur people 'to read their reality and write their own history'.
His recent programmes involve MC'ing 'Shafted?!' a speakeasy led by people with HIV and the 'Never Again Ever! Beyond UKIP Cabaret in Nigel Farage's boozer. Dan recently co-founded Queer Tours of London - A Mince Through Time
Dani has been part of the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre team since they hesitantly stuck their hand up at an open meeting a year ago, and they haven't looked back since. The campaign has been a real joy to share in - watching it grow and evolve to include ever more voices has been so exciting, and they are so thrilled involve Young Barbican in the process.
We'll be welcoming a member of Project Indigo. Project Indigo is a youth group for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, or intersex or who are questioning their sexual or gender identity and who are aged between 13-25.
The group gives young people the opportunity to meet other LGBTQI+ young people in a supportive environment. We sometimes find ourselves talking about mental health, art, gender, sexuality, celebrities and justice, and sometimes just have fun, make friends and eat pizza.
Sapphire is a comedian, actor and writer that uses comedy as a vessel to teach people about tough or challenging social issues. Her recent journalist work has documented the groups who are attempting to re-brand the far right in the U.K . This year she's made two films, one of the Hollywood-ification of Tommy Robinson and another on the growth of new far - right group - The Democratic Football Lads Alliance.
