Hugh Strange

Architecture on Stage

A photo of the Farmworker's House in Cornwall. It is a single storey, with a lime render and a pitched roof with three roof windows on the right side. On the left is a large chimney. It is surrounded by a large meadow of grass.

Explore the work of Hugh Strange, whose buildings are rooted in the precise and economic use of low-carbon materials and a sensitivity to the particularities of their sites.

Significant projects include the Strange House, London (2010), the Drawing Matter Archive at Shatwell Farm (2014) and the Farmworker's House, Cornwall (2024), which was shortlisted for the 2024 House of the Year award.

The Architecture Foundation, in association with the Barbican, presents Architecture on Stage – a programme of talks by the world's leading architects.
