In Response to Noah Davis

Recognised as one of the most original and uncanny painters to emerge in recent years, Noah Davis' paintings explore a range of Black life. At this evening of poetry readings and performances, the Barbican Young Poets present work written in response to Davis' paintings currently on display in our Art Gallery, as well as taking inspiration from the poems and essays of Claudia Rankine.

The event begins with a visit to the Noah Davis exhibition, followed by a reception in the Garden Room. Audiences will then return to the Gallery for performances with an introduction by Claudia Rankine.

Barbican Young Poets is a community and artist development initiative for people who want to explore what’s possible for their poetry and creative expression, fostering a collective of poets to become the next generation of powerful creative voices.
