We invited presenter and broadcaster Anita Rani to take a tour of The Imaginary Institution of India with curator Shanay Jhaveri.
The exhibition features works by 30 Indian artists, many of which have never been seen before in the UK. The artists respond to India’s changing cultural-political landscape between two pivotal years: Indira Gandhi’s declaration of a state of emergency in 1975 and the Pokhran nuclear tests in 1998.
