Timestalker (15) (AD)

A woman and man in 18th-century clothing and wigs stand back-to-back, with both holding swords pointed skyward.

Agnes (Alice Lowe) is fated to make the same romantic mistakes over and over whenever she's reincarnated in different eras of history.

The second feature from Alice Lowe (as with this film, she was the writer-director and star of Prevenge) is a fantastical, off-beat hysterical treat filled with wit, occasional crudeness and gory moments.

This time travelling comedy moves from 17th-century Scotland to an apocalyptic 22nd century. It's inventive and silly and features a role-call of wonderful British actors, including Nick Frost, Aneurin Barnard, Kate Dickie and Jacob Anderson.

UK 2024 dir Alice Lowe 90 min
