Senior Community Screening

A young boy finds himself washed ashore on an island in the Pacific, in this animated adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s novel.

We are delighted to have the film's directors Neil Boyle & Kirk Hendry and producer Barnaby Spurrier joining for a ScreenTalk for this special event!

A fictionalised story written by the great children’s writer known for War Horse, Kensuke’s Kingdom tells the story of a family looking for a fresh start across the Pacific ocean, when their young son Michael is swept away in a storm.

Finding himself on a seemingly deserted island, Michael soon discovers that he and his dog are not the only ones there.

A touching tale that will stop you in your tracks and ask you about your relationship with the world around you.

Starring Cillian Murphy, Sally Hawkins, Raffey Cassidy and Ken Watanabe.

Hosted by Michael Leader, culture writer, broadcaster and co-creator of the Ghiblioteque podcast.
