Hoard (18) (AD)

A man and a girl stand very close together, staring at each other. She appears to not have a top on, he wears a red vest.

Luna Carmoon's debut is a haunting drama about the after-effects of childhood trauma in a young girl's life.

Joseph Quinn and Saura Lightfoot Leon star in this story about childhood trauma and relationships, and our human need for genuine connection.

Following the relationship of a young girl with her mother, and her journey through the care system, Luna Carmoon's fantastical drama is an ode to loneliness and connection, looking at a relationship that develops between two young people in the foster system.

Saura Lightfoot Leon takes on the lead role, having already appeared in this year's Masters of The Air mini series alongside Austin Butler and Calum Turner. Joseph Quinn is powerful in a role outside his already wide-reaching canon of Stranger Things (the rocker Eddie), Dickensian, and a number of theatre roles

Hoard won the Sutherland Award for Best First Feature at BFI London Film Festival 2023.
