Members are invited to an exclusive curator's tour of Shilpa Gupta: Sun at Night.
The first major London exhibition by Mumbai-based artist Shilpa Gupta highlights the fragility of one’s right to expression whilst raising urgent questions of censorship, confinement, and resistance.
In this exclusive tour, curator Chris Bayley will give an insight into the research and themes explored in the immersive installation and soundscape, which comprises of 100 microphones suspended above 100 spikes, each piercing a page with a verse of poetry by a poet incarcerated for their work, writings, or beliefs.
There are two slots for this event, 7.15pm and 8pm, the tour will last approximately 30 minutes.
Tickets are £5 per person for Barbican Members and Members Plus.
Members are welcome to bring a guest, they will need their own ticket.
Following the recent Government guidance, all visitors must wear a face covering as a condition of entry to the Barbican, unless exempt or under 12. Please read our safety information so you can enjoy your visit.

Enhanced security measures are currently in place at the Barbican.
As part of these measures only one reasonably-sized bag (no larger than 32cm L x 18cm W x 22cm H) per person may be taken inside our venues and all bags may be searched by a member of our team.
We ask that, where possible, visitors avoid bringing large bags to the Centre. If you do need to check bags into our free cloakrooms, we suggest arriving early. All bags deposited will be subject to search and random bag searches are also in operation.
