6.30pm–8pm, Conservatory Well
In response to Noah Davis’ practice of creating realities outside of racial inequalities, join artist Cosima Cobley Carr in a mixed-media workshop exploring world-building. Through combining abstract watercolour painting with collage techniques, you will be invited to imagine new worlds beyond the social strictures, scrutiny, judgements and inequalities you may face.
Cosima Cobley Carr is an interdisciplinary artist moving across moving-image, collage, sound and performance. Their work explores issues relating to language-use, social understanding and psychological and psychoanalytic narratives.
Sally Barton: Banner Making Workshop
6.30pm–8pm, Conservatory Well
In this textiles-based workshop, participants are encouraged to reflect on the works of Noah Davis and their own personal connections to home, heritage, landscape and memory. You'll develop skills in textiles by creating tapestries or banners inspired by Davis' paintings, layering fabrics, beads, buttons and ribbon to create emotive scenes that incorporate figures, buildings, landscapes and scenery.
Sally Barton is a socially engaged artist, based in East London and working out of OOF Gallery Studios. Originally from Sheffield, her practice explores her relationship to the North of England and the social and industrial history of England. She works in photography, textiles, collage and sculpture.

Fikayo Adebajo: Anti-interpretation Tour & Otherwise Manifesto Making
6.30pm–9.30pm, Garden Room
Join artist-curator Fikayo Adebajo for Otherwise Manifesto Making, a workshop designed to help you craft personal manifestos inspired by the visionary work of Noah Davis.
Envisioning Davis’ paintings as portals of possibility, the session will begin with a short Anti-Interpretation tour guided with specially designed prompt cards. We’ll set aside the theory and channel our emotions, memories and dreams to see visions of our future through the artworks. We'll then return to the workshop space to transform these visions into visual declarations.
Through collage, found imagery, Barbican archival material and intuitive mark-making, you’ll shape your own artistic or personal manifestos, statements of intention, resistance and possibility. You are invited to bring meaningful images or 2D objects, such as stickers, ticket stubs and fabric scraps, to include in your manifest.
Fikayo Adebajo is an award winning photographer, artist and curator. She is guided by her concept of the “Otherwise Gaze” — a methodology for existing in communion with ourselves and others to transform our inner landscapes and the world around us. Working with images, objects and participatory processes, her practice creates spaces of reflection and collective creativity.
