London Symphony Orchestra: Family Concert – Lost Things
Suitable for 7- to 12-year-olds and their families

A fun opportunity for families to learn more about music and the instruments of the orchestra, with music based on a theme and free workshops before the concert.
At some point in its life, everything has been lost, forgotten, or ignored in one way or another. Join presenter Paul Rissmann and the LSO on an exciting new musical adventure full of strange creatures in need of a home, and discover more about the orchestra on the way. Hear music from Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Modest Mussorgsky, Louise Farrenc and John Williams, alongside an enchanting musical setting of Shaun Tan’s award winning story The Lost Thing.
LSO Family Concerts are a fun, informative way for families to experience live music together and learn more about the instruments of the orchestra. Each concert is based on a theme, with free workshops before the performance, and the opportunity for everyone to get involved by playing or singing along with the audience participation piece during the concert.
The concert will finish at approximately 3.45pm (timings subject to change).
Participation Pieces
During the concert we’ll be asking you to sing along with the Orchestra in our specially written songs, Don’t Panic and The Lost Thing written by Paul Rissmann, and there will be practice sessions in the foyer beforehand. Please note that the only audience participation during this concert will be through singing and there will not be any opportunity to play your own instruments on this occasion.

Arrive early to take part in free craft and musical activities in the foyers ahead of the concert. No booking required – all sessions will be available on a first come, first served basis. Full details here.
