Lang Lang
One of the most influential pianists of the 21st century plays music by Fauré, Schumann and Chopin.
Superstar pianist Lang Lang performs the solo piano version of one of Fauré’s most popular works, followed by Schumann’s eight-movement masterpiece – a staple of the Romantic repertoire that the composer once called his favourite. The evening culminates in music by Chopin, including a selection of his mazurkas in which he took Polish folk traditions and made them his own.
‘The hottest artist on the classical music planet’ (New York Times), Lang Lang plays sold-out concerts all over the world. From playing at the 2008 Olympic Opening Ceremony in Beijing to appearing as a judge on Channel 4’s The Piano, he has cemented himself as one of the world’s most influential and committed ambassadors for the arts in the 21st century.
The end time of this event will be confirmed closer to the date of the concert.
