Respighi’s Roman spectacular and a new American classic frame Prokofiev’s most thrilling piano concerto in this BBC Symphony Orchestra debut for conductor Jonathon Heyward and pianist Yeol Eum Son.

You can’t have missed the buzz around this remarkable Korean pianist; now hear her for yourself, as she joins conductor Jonathon Heyward and the full BBC Symphony Orchestra in Prokofiev’s ferocious Second Piano Concerto. Few living pianists play it better.
And it’s Heyward’s debut appearance with the BBC SO too, and everything about this concert promises to be electrifying – whether Respighi’s teeming, Technicolor musical postcards from Rome, or a striking new work by the American composer James Lee III. Inspired by Biblical visions and the wonders of astronomy, it’s caused quite a sensation in the USA. You’re about to discover why.

Mobility
Spaces for wheelchair users in row U at the rear of the stalls (up to sixteen, depth of row 180cm) and the back row of the circle (four), both with fold-down companion seats. Some seats in row S of the stalls for people with very limited mobility.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs may be taken into the concert hall where there are a limited number of suitable seats in row G of the stalls. If you prefer, you may leave your dog with a member of the cloakroom staff during the performance.
Hearing facility
There is an induction loop in the concert hall. You can use this by adjusting your hearing aid to the ‘T’ setting.
