The Bikeriders (15) (AD)

Austin Butler and Jodie Comer bring to life the hard-edged motorcycle gang tearing up Illinois from Danny Lyon's 1967 photobook.

A stunningly well made film, The Bikeriders stars Austin Butler (Elvis), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) and Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road) as members of The Vandals: a hardcore, loyal motorcycle gang in 1960s USA.

Following the gang (which is more like a family than a club) as it expands nation-wide, the film chronicles the loyalties, crimes and sacrifices made in favour of the collective over the individual, and what happens when the gang becomes too big to control.

At times thrilling, others hilarious, and some heart-breaking, The Bikeriders brings to life the real members of Outlaws MC, the motorcycle club that renowned photographer Danny Lyons documented and lived amongst in the 1960s.

Written and directed by Jeff Nichols, known for Mud.
