A morning of advice from experts about making the film and TV industry more sustainable, for students.

To celebrate Green Careers Week, join us for a morning of advice from experts working to make the film and television industry more sustainable and find out more about what roles there are for people looking to combine a love of all things green, with a love of all things screen! 

Students will have the opportunity to hear about jobs and skills, different career pathways and how transferrable skills can make the difference. There will also be time for audience questions.

Project Lead for the BAFTA albert Education Partnership, working with higher education institutions to deliver sustainability training to media students and running albert Academy which offers sustainability training to industry professionals to mobilise the screen industries to a more sustainable future.

Tristan Patrick Sherfield, Self-Shooting Director Producer, albert Grad from University of the West of England, Member of the BAFTA albert Education Partnership

As a Self-Shooting Director Producer, Tristan has honed his skills in crafting compelling narratives while also capturing visually stunning footage. Forgotten Fibre, a documentary on wool and sustainable fashion made during his time at University of West England, is a multi-award winning short including Best Student Documentary and the Environmental Award at the British Documentary Film Festival, and a nomination for the Royal Television Society Student Television Awards 2024 for the Undergraduate Saving the Planet Award.

Tristan Sherfield (He/Him) – Documentary Filmmaker, BAFTA albert Grad (UWE)

Tristan is a self-shooting documentary filmmaker. Forgotten Fibre, a documentary on wool and sustainable fashion made during his time at University of West England, is a multi-award winning short including Best Student Documentary and the Environmental Award at the British Documentary Film Festival, and a nomination for the RTS Student Television Awards 2024 for the Undergraduate Saving the Planet Award.

 

Emily Flower (She/Her) – Production Assistant, BAFTA albert Grad (BFS)

A recent graduate of the Bournemouth Film School (Arts University Bournemouth), Emily is currently working in the screen industries as a production assistant. Her short film, Experiments of Colour and Substance, is on its way to being awarded the BAFTA albert Education Partnership production logo – a student equivalent to industry albert certification.

 

Max Francis Hayes (They/Them) – Sustainability Trainee, Neptune Sustainability

After completing an undergraduate degree in Film at Middlesex University, Max is now in the Prime Video Craft Academy trainee scheme, working in the screen industries as a Sustainability Trainee with Neptune Sustainability.
