Metamorphosis – Third Coast Percussion

Choreography by Movement Art Is

Third Coast Percussion passing instruments to each other

GRAMMY Award-winning, Chicago-based quartet Third Coast Percussion return, bringing their impressive arrangements and sweeping sounds to Milton Court.

The first percussion ensemble to ever win a GRAMMY Award, Third Coast Percussion constantly redefine the classical music experience by pushing percussion in new directions with a brilliantly varied sonic palette.

Praised for their rare power, the ensemble's recordings include 17 feature albums. Besides putting their stamp on iconic percussion works by John Cage and Steve Reich, the quartet has created first recordings of commissioned works by Philip Glass, Devonté Hynes, Gavin Bryars, Danny Elfman and more.

Third Coast Percussion joins forces with the ground-breaking choreography of Movement Art Is (Lil Buck and Jon Boogz), performed and interpreted by Trent Jeray and Cameron Murphy. Intensely personal and fiercely virtuosic, two disparate styles of street dance blend seamlessly with new music by Jlin, Tyondai Braxton and Philip Glass.
