Yorgos Lanthimos's latest project is an absurdist triptych set in contemporary America, starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons and Willem Dafoe.
Known for his bizarre masterpieces (The Favourite, The Lobster and Poor Things, recently), director Yorgos Lanthimos jumps forward to the present day to paint a series of three darkly comic short films, which use the same cast.
Collaborating again with his previous writing partner Efthymis Filippou, Kinds of Kindness tells three tales, with: a police officer and his wife, who supposedly drowns on a diving trip; a man on a mission to carve out a new path for himself; and a woman searching for a spiritual healer.
With a stunningly star-studded cast featuring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hunter Schafer, Hong Chau and Joe Alwyn, expect the usual unpredictable absurdity of Lanthimos, dance routines, and dark humour.
