An incredible double bill brimming with the best Afro-Brazilian artists from Bahia; featuring singer Margareth Menezes and Ilê Aiyê, the first Afro-Bloco movement in Brazil.

Margareth Menezes is one of the most powerful voices in Brazilian music taking Afro Pop around the world. Loaded with aesthetic symbols the movement works to rescue its history whilst adding innovative layers from other genres, forming something completely new.

Margareth Menezes became Brazil's Minister of Culture, joining Lula’s government on 1 January 2023 and following in the tradition of Gilberto Gil who served as Minister in Lula’s first administration.

50 years after becoming the first carnival group exclusive to Black people, llê Aiyê bring their strong drum rhythms to the Hall matched by dancing, singing and beautiful costumes.

This evening celebrates Afro-Brazilian communities in carnival and invites you to its joyous world.
