The End of the World

ft. Lubomyr Melnyk, Julia Kent, Shards + SPIME.IM

Dynamic shot of The End of The World playing on stage amidst the backdrop of planet earth

Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk joins Canadian cellist Julia Kent and vocal group Shards for this immersive experience that combines natural sound elements, electronics and live audio-visuals.

This musical and visual collaboration between Lubomyr Melnyk, Julia Kent, Shards and Turin-based artistic collective SPIME.IM, creates an interaction between sound and images based on datasets gathered from current climactic changes.

Melnyk combines his characteristic natural sound elements with electric and acoustic arrangements by Julia Kent, integrated with Shards' choral tones and SPIME.IM's virtual interactions. The result is an impactful multimedia performance that celebrates nature's beauty, and above all, presents a dramatic representation of the ecological disaster that our planet is facing and the self-destructive conduct of mankind.

Start time: 8pm

Approximate running time: 75 mins, no interval.

Please note all timings are approximate and subject to change.

The performance will contain strobe lighting and flashing images.
