London Symphony Orchestra Family Concert: I Need My Monster
Recommended for children aged 7+ & their families
Bring your family along for a fun, informative introduction to the world of the LSO, with music inspired by a theme and the chance for everyone to get involved in the audience participation piece.
This Family Concert is based on the award-winning children’s storybook I Need My Monster by Amanda Noll, with illustrations by Howard McWilliam.
It’s all about a little boy who cannot sleep without his friendly monster, Gabe, appearing first. On our hunt for Gabe we'll meet big monsters, small monsters, monsters with claws, scales and fur, each with their very own musical accompainiment. But you don't need to be scared, there'll be music from Saint-Saëns, Mussorgsky, Bartók and Leroy Anderson, among others, and a brand new song for children (and adults) to join in with.
Presented in a fun and informative way, LSO Family Concerts feature music based on a theme and offer the chance for everyone to get involved by playing or singing along with the audience participation piece.
This concert will run for approx 1 hour without an interval
There is a free crèche available for younger siblings under the age of 7.
