The Gold Medal 2019

Gold Medal winner 2018 Joon Yoon

Guildhall School’s premiere music prize returns, and this year is the turn of the singers. Sir Bryn Terfel, who won the award exactly 30 years ago, returns as a member of the judging panel.

The Gold Medal was endowed by Sir H. Dixon Kimber in 1915 and since the 1950s it has been open to singers and instrumentalists in alternate years. This year it’s the singers' turn, who will perform a short programme with piano accompaniment followed by a second half of arias with Guildhall Symphony Orchestra conducted by Richard Farnes.

The distinguished judging panel for 2019 includes Sir Bryn Terfel and Ann Murray DBE.
