Wall follows this poignant journey, entirely through the filmmaker’s phone calls and recorded messages to and from the important women in her life: her mother, her older sister, and her best friend. The intimate dialogue is juxtaposed with captivating footage of the Western Wall, one of the most intimate public sites imaginable, the foot of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, and takes a close and long-term observation of the political, religious, and national changes taking place in a divided country throughout 2016. The film is a double portrait of a place and of a woman; an encounter between sound and image, private and public.
Wall is the debut documentary feature by Israeli independent director Moran Ifergan who will attend the ScreenTalk after the film.
