Join us on Saturday 2nd December for a members' stone paper decoration workshop with KUF Studios.
KUFstudios is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Dalston, London. Kia Utzon-Frank founded KUFstudios in 2016; She trained as a goldsmith, designer and inventor with an MA from Royal College of Art. Her multifarious design studio produces gradient jewellery, patented window blinds, cakes that look like marble sculptures and enables Kia to continuously explore her interests.
In this workshop, using this extraordinary, water proof and tear resistant stone paper, you’ll get to create your own beautiful three dimensional decorations.
Using a series of ordered cuts you will create unforeseeable shapes by bending and twisting the cut, flat sheets. You will investigate the created structures and expose them in different light to discover their surprising shadows. This is actually the method Kia uses to create her own paper mobile designs.
This workshop with start at 10am in the Barbican Shop and last approximately two hours.
