Bill Brandt
Photographs 1928-1983
—
An exhibition embracing the range of Bill Brandt’s work, inviting a fresh view of one of the world’s masters of photography.
This exhibition covered every aspect of his activity from his early career in Hungary and Spain, the social documentary work in Britain before the Second World War, to his portraits, landscapes and studies of nudes, together with a selection of late collages rarely exhibited before.
Of the many celebrated images in the exhibition, a highlight included many previously unexhibited vintage prints from Picture Post.
