Scottish Art Since 1900
Scottish Art Since 1900 was the most comprehensive survey of twentieth century Scottish art to be seen in London since the 1960s.
While placing some Scottish artists within the field of influence of both French and American post-war artistic movements this exhibition also explored Scottish artists’ local groups and styles, including the Colourists and the Edinburgh School artists.
First shown at the Scottish National Gallery of Modem Art in Edinburgh, for the London showing the exhibition gained work from younger Scottish sculptors, including Doug Cocker and Tracy McKenna, including specially commissioned new works.
Scottish Art Since 1900 has been selected by Keith Hartley and organized by the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The commissioning of new sculpture has been made possible by the generous sponsorship of Flemings.
