The Wedding Banquet (1993) / Amazon rental

A Taiwanese, Oscar-nominated box office hit from Ang Lee, about a gay man who enters a marriage of convenience with a female artist to appease his parents. It's a warm, superbly acted delight throughout. Watch the trailer
