Through a series of life-size dioramas and paintings, the exhibition tells the story of Bettina, a femme fatale character living in an imagined colonial outpost. We find out what happens when she rejects the rules dictated to her by society – is her story a happy story or a sad story? ‘There is never this kind of tidy end or tidy beginning and even people, characters, archetypes are never one or another thing.’ What better setting for this story than the ‘liminal space’ of The Curve, filled with film set installations that both direct and disorient you.
Experience the exhibition for free in The Curve, until 5 Jan.
