Guildhall School's prestigious prize for musicians

The final of Guildhall School's most prestigious music prize, offering the chance to enjoy songs and arias performed by three outstanding Guildhall vocalists in front of an esteemed panel of judges.

Guildhall School’s premier music prize was founded in 1915 and since the 1950s it has been open to singers and instrumentalists in alternate years. Previous Gold Medal winners include Jacqueline du Pré OBE (1960), Tasmin Little CBE (1986), and Sir Bryn Terfel CBE (1989).

This year three exceptional Guildhall singers - Manon Ogwen Parry, Redmond Sanders and Seohyun Go - will perform with piano and Guildhall Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer.

As part of the evening the orchestra will also premiere HOLME, a new work written by Guildhall alumni Ben Pease Barton and David Bottomley and performed by Guildhall mezzo soprano Karima El Demerdasch, and present Rossini's Overture to The Barber of Seville.

Redmond Sanders baritone 
songs and arias by Ireland, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Wolseley Charles, Humperdinck, Mozart, Verdi & Ravel 

Seohyun Go soprano 
songs and arias by Marx, Liszt, Taekyu Lim, Respighi, Richard Strauss, Mozart & Ravel

Presented by Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
