Barbican announces Kim Deal performance of debut solo album Nobody Loves You More with ensemble for March 2025
Kim Deal
Alternative-rock icon Kim Deal makes her Barbican debut with Nobody Loves You More (4AD, 22 Nov 2024), her highly-anticipated solo album. Accompanied by a handpicked ensemble, Deal brings her new album to life in this one-off show.
Nobody Loves You More, Deal’s solo debut, is a celebration of her unmatched artistry, slip and sliding from doo-wop arpeggios to gorgeously porous vocals. It boasts a haze of unrequited love, sweet straight-ahead melodies slashed by dissonance and sublime lyricism.
For the record, Deal partnered with legendary engineer Steve Albini, her close friend and longtime collaborator, ensuring each track echoes with her signature authenticity. The album also features a cast of Deal’s notable collaborators, including past and present members of The Breeders, along with Raymond McGinley (Teenage Fanclub) and Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, The Greenhornes).
“Glorious, life-affirming pop… one of Deal’s best ever albums” MOJO’s Album of the Month, *****
