Join us in celebration of the art of poetry and over 15 years of the Barbican Young Poets programme.
This foyer exhibition celebrates poetry as an artform as well as highlighting the work of the Barbican Young Poets which since 2009, has fostered a collective of poets to become the next generation of powerful creative voices.
Barbican Young Poets is an artist development initiative and community for those who wish to explore what’s possible for their poetry and creative expression. Participants generate new writing, experiment with different ways of working, and refine a selection of work towards a published anthology as well as performances and presentations. BYP is facilitated by renowned poet and performer, Jacob Sam-La Rose.
Applications for the Barbican Young Poets 24/25 programme are now open until 28 Oct.
Come visit and take a moment to read, listen to or write in a space that invites you to experience poetry in practice.
Films/multi-media installations created by the Barbican Young Poets may contain elements which some may find upsetting – specific content warnings are included for each video alongside the timestamp and title in the exhibition space.
