One of the brightest new stars on the Oslo jazz scene, gifted composer and guitarist LILJA (Oddrun Lilja) has been making waves with her innovative, multifaceted ensemble.
Her latest album, Mirage (2023) featured eclectic collaborations with traditional musicians from Sápmi, Brazil, Morocco and Pakistan. Such daring, stylistic fusion has become a hallmark of LILJA's sound.
Joined by one of Norway's most celebrated players of Hardangerfiddle and violin, Nils Økland has been forging new paths in traditionally rooted music for years. His distinctive music bridges the worlds of traditional and contemporary folk with a mourning sound that transports you to the majestic landscape of Norway. His son, Henrik Økland accompanies on stage performing on instruments including the traditional Norwegian flute, carved from willow.
