A celebration of one of the UK’s most enduring rock bands. Curated by FTMO (the Official Status Quo Fan Club) and Status Quo fan and record collector, Andy Campbell.
The Status Quo story began in 1962 with just Francis Rossi, Alan Lancaster and Alan Keys. By 2022, the line-up is very different, as is the music. This free exhibition charts the band’s history throughout the decades by looking at their music and memorabilia. It features tour-related posters, photographs, and an eclectic range of memorabilia, plus a wall of 44 of the band’s key albums, as well as never-seen-before memorabilia. The original handwritten lyrics to ‘Caroline’ and ‘Down Down’ will be on display for the first time.
The band memorably opened the LIVE AID concert at Wembley in July 1985 with one of its greatest hits, ‘Rockin’ All Over the World’, and in 1991, Status Quo received a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

This exhibition is free and there is no need to book. It is open during Barbican Library opening hours:
