London (PG) + ScreenTalk with Patrick Keiller and Owen Hatherley

In 1992 artist Patrick Keiller would begin work on London, the first of his famed Robinson trilogy. Revisiting the film after 30 years provides an opportunity to reflect on its relevance and to think through the myriad of changes the city has gone through in this period, as well as tracing the many ways in which Keiller’s portrayal still resonates as the curious circularities of history recur and continue to impact the experiences of the present.

Owen Hatherley's own work has engaged regularly with the politics, economy and architecture of the capital, most recently in his Red Metropolis: Socialism and the Government of London (Repeater Books), which will be on sale thanks to Greyscape alongside Patrick Keiller's London, a fully illustrated book of the film's screenplay, published by FUEL, who have just marked their own 30th anniversary.
