Sunrises, seascapes and blue Californian skies: it’s all about colour as the LSO presents 20th-century favourites by Ravel, Debussy and John Adams.
Dawn breaks in paradise, and in Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé you can hear every flurry of birdsong and glint of dew. Debussy gazes at the English Channel, and hears new worlds of sonic colour. And in 1980s San Francisco, John Adams imagines a supertanker rising from the sea and rocketing into the shining Pacific sky.

Change of Artist
Sir Simon Rattle is recovering from Covid-19, and has consequently had to reduce his schedule. He will now no longer be able to conduct the LSO concerts at the Barbican on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 April.
The LSO is grateful to Jonathan Stockhammer for stepping in to conduct these two performances, and we look forward to welcoming Sir Simon for his next LSO concert on Sunday 23 April. The programmes for 19 and 20 April remain unchanged.

Booking fees
£4 booking fee per online/phone transaction.

We’ve plenty of places for you to relax and replenish, from coffee and cake to wood-fired pizzas and full pre-theatre menus
Mobility
Spaces for wheelchair users in row U at the rear of the stalls (up to sixteen, depth of row 180cm) and the back row of the circle (four), both with fold-down companion seats. Some seats in row S of the stalls for people with very limited mobility.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs may be taken into the concert hall where there are a limited number of suitable seats in row G of the stalls. If you prefer, you may leave your dog with a member of the cloakroom staff during the performance.
Hearing facility
There is an induction loop in the concert hall. You can use this by adjusting your hearing aid to the ‘T’ setting.
