Want to know more about classical music but not sure where to start? Make the most of your lunchbreak and enjoy a free, 45-minute informal concert at LSO St Luke’s. With introductions.
In this concert, a chamber ensemble of LSO string musicians and a string duo perform music by Sibelius and his great-grandson Lauri Porra, himself a composer and performer who will introduce his own pieces. There will also be music by Prokofiev, and a special arrangement of Lux Aeterna by Bohdana Frolyak, a Ukrainian composer from Lviv.
There will be opportunity at this concert to support the Disaster Emergency Committee's (DEC's) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. DEC charities, and their local partners, are working to meet the immediate needs of people and will also help people affected by the conflict to rebuild their lives in the months and years to come.
The performance is expected to finish around 1.15pm
Also free to watch live on YouTube at youtube.com/lso.
