Youssou N'Dour

Youssou N'Dour sitting on a roof terrace, looking over his left shoulder

The leading Senegalese singer returns to the public stage, performing his new album, with his band of musicians from the worlds of mbalax and griot music.

Mixing traditional Senegalese and African music into a sound which is uplifting, thoughtful and immediately danceable, Youssou sings songs reflecting on the society, politics and the environment. From advocating for access to vaccinations in ‘Corona’, to encouraging community action to save our world in ‘Zero Waste’, Mbalax is a swan song for Africa, particularly his dear Senegal – telling of the present, and hoping for a better African future.

A musician since his teens, and releasing solo music for over 30 years, Youssou N’Dour has also been nominated a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations for his activism.
