London African Gospel Choir perform Paul Simon’s Graceland

a wide shot of the LAGC performing on a concert stage

Thirty-five years after the release of Paul Simon's iconic Graceland, the London African Gospel Choir perform an astounding rendition.

After coming across a bootleg cassette of South African township music in the early 80s, Paul Simon was totally smitten by the infectious and irresistible rhythms. He travelled to Johannesburg, spending two weeks there, recording with the absolute cream of South African musicians. The result was Graceland – a global phenomenon that included hit single ‘You Can Call Me Al’.

The richness and harmony of the seventeen-member strong London African Gospel Choir’s voices create an overwhelming musical event: incomparably joyful and uplifting.
