Claiming that such competitions demeaned women, the newly formed Women’s Liberation Movement gained overnight fame by invading the stage and disrupting the live broadcast of the beauty competition. The show's result caused further uproar when Miss Grenada became the first black woman to be crowned Miss World, turning the Western ideal of beauty on its head.

Our Parent and Baby screenings are designed for adults to enjoy the latest film releases with their young babies, in a relaxed atmosphere with gentler lighting and sound. Screenings are suitable for babies of 12 months or under. Up to four adults can accompany a baby, but adults without a baby will not be admitted.
